Trader Joe’s has really become a staple for me each week. I typically get most of groceries from TJ’s and whatever I can’t get from there, I usually get from Sprouts or Whole Foods.
PRODUCE
Most of the produce is pretty self explanatory, and changes each week for me. The great thing about TJ’s is that you can get organic produce at a very reasonable price. All of the produce is great, but here are some honorable mentions:
- Organic Green Beans: Each Sunday for my meal prep, I like to trim the ends and blanch these for 2 minutes. I have them as a snack, alongside a sandwhich, and my dog loves them too!
- Organic Tuscan Kale: This kale is super tasty and dark. I like to pull the stems out and use in a Kale Cesar Salad. I also love using this kale in my tofu scrambles for weekend breakfasts.
- Teeny Tiny Avocados: I really love these because they’re the perfect size for one person. I use two of these when I make guacamole for taco night. I’ll use one of these to top my salad or Buddah bowl.
- Organic Baby Spinach
- Organic Tomatoes
- Organic Persian Cucumbers
- Organic Arugula
- Organic Sweet Onions
- Organic Crimini Mushrooms
- Fresh herbs
BREADS
- Vegan Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies: OMG – these are honestly SO GOOD. My omni husband also loves these! I like keeping these in the refrigerator because I prefer cold cookies.
- Panini Rustic Rolls: This bread is so delicious and very low in Weight Watchers Points (4 SP). It’s a quick 6-8 minutes in the oven, then you can use these for all sorts of sandwiches. I like to use these for vegan “sloppy joe’s”, tofurky sandwiches, or meatball sandwiches.
DAIRY/DELI
- Garlic & Herb Pizza Dough: The dough is super tasty! Usually once a week, I’ll make pizza using this dough and the jarred fat free pizza sauce (mentioned below). I always load my pizza up with crimini mushrooms, spinach, daiya cheese, and I top it with arugula & balsamic glaze.
- Organic Soy Beverage: I love the simple ingredients in this soy milk. I usually buy two of these cartons a week and have on hand when I make my InstantPot Yogurt.
- Spicy Hummus
- Eggplant Hummus
- Organic Sprouted Tofu
- Tofurky Deli Slices
- Beefless Ground
PANTRY
- Miso Ginger Broth: I like to use this broth when I make a quick weekday Ramen. I’ll add tofu, edamame, and corn along with some organic Brown Rice Rice Noodles.
- Dragon Hot Sauce: This stuff is great on tacos, tofu scramble, basically anything you want to add some heat to. The flavor is really great and works with any cuisine
- Organic Black Beans
- Organic Chickpeas
- Kosher Dill Pickles
- Dijon Mustard
- Italian Tomato Paste
- Diced tomatoes with chilies
- Fat Free Pizza Sauce
- Rustico Pasta Sauce
- Goddess Dressing
- Balsamic Glaze
FROZEN
- Cauliflower Gnocchi: WOW! This stuff is so good. Instead of following the directions on the package, I pan fry these with a teaspoon of oil until all sides are brown. I like to also make a sauce with a little bit of onions, beefless ground, kale, and the Rustico Pasta Sauce.
- Chicken-less Mandarin Orange Morsels
- Handsome Cut Fries
- Hash Browns
- Dr. Praeger’s California Veggie Burgers
- Organic Mango Chunks: I like to defrost these and top them with some vegan yogurt and granola. They’re also great in smoothies.
- Fire-roasted Bell Peppers & Onions
- Organic Broccoli
- Fire-Roasted Corn
- Thai Vegetable Gyozas
SNACKS
- Salsa Authentica: Probably the best store bought salsa I’ve ever had. It’s great with tortilla chips, and a great addition to add to an avocado for quick guacamole.
- Organic Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips
- Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels
- Dark Chocolate Almonds with Sea Salt & Turbinado Sugar
- Ridge Cut Salt & Pepper Chips: These chips are so addictive. They’re not just plain salt and pepper chips – they have a great onion and garlic flavor to them.
These items are some of my favorite items from Trader Joe’s – many of which I purchase and go through each week. What are some of your weekly staples? I would love to hear in the comments below!
